Vermont among America's best-run states

According to a survey conducted by business website 24/7WallSt.com, Vermont is the sixth best-run state in the nation. The national survey evaluated hundreds of data sets including statistics on financial health, standard of living and government services to determine how well each state is managed.

The Green Mountain State was lauded for its high quality of life and low crime and poverty levels. Vermont’s level of education attainment, educational expenditures and strong credit rating also helped the state rank high.

Overall, North Dakota, Wyoming, Iowa, Nebraska and Utah took the top five spots in the survey.
